Academic Children's Hospital

We are the Academic Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer care to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!

Our Operations

At ward 95B, the section for pediatric surgery, we conduct operations in surgery, urology, orthopedics, neurology/neurosurgery, and hand surgery. This includes both planned care and emergency admissions around the clock for all specialties. We also run a shared daycare service and several specialist clinics in the area. The children who come to us are aged from newborns up to 18 years. We accept patients from the entire Mälardalen and Norrland regions.

It is important for us that both children and parents feel safe and well-prepared. All of us who work together in the multidisciplinary team at the children's hospital play an important role in this. All our work, from preparatory information about the upcoming procedure to aftercare on the ward, is done with great respect for the child. We place a strong focus on the child's perspective and work in teams together with the child and family. There are many laughs in a day spent with children and families.

Your Mission

We are looking for nursing assistants/care assistants who are interested in working with children in the areas of pediatric surgery and pediatric neurology.

You will work with the usual tasks for nursing assistants/care assistants in a children's ward, but it may also be that you sit vigil with one of the ward's inpatients. The work with the patient includes standard nursing measures and monitoring of vital parameters. Management and care of tracheostomy may occur.

You will be welcomed by positive and engaged colleagues, many with long experience, mixed with those who have recently started their development in the profession. You will be part of a team that supports and helps each other. You will be offered a meaningful and rewarding job, where you meet families in many different situations.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a nursing assistant or studying for a profession in healthcare (in which case you will work as a care assistant). You have a genuine interest in working with children and their families. We will adapt the introduction to your conditions.

Your Skills

You who apply enjoy working at a varied pace with a focus on high quality. You should thrive in collaboration with many professional roles but also be able to work independently. You see the child and parents as the greatest asset in the care meeting. In this recruitment, great importance will be placed on personal qualities.

We Offer

We offer a part-time position with shifts during the day, evening, and night. Start date according to agreement. Before hiring, a background check will be conducted. With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
