Security Protection Specialist for Technical Surveillance
The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defense and security to support Sweden's military and civil defense. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defense, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defense, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analyses. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defense capability.

About the Position
As a security protection specialist for technical surveillance, you will work broadly within the security protection area and support all FOI locations in Umeå, Kista, Grindsjön, and Linköping. You will have overall responsibility for security technical systems such as access control systems, alarms, video surveillance, and locking systems. You will also have good knowledge of physical protection of facilities and perimeter security. You will participate in conducting security analyses for various operations. Furthermore, you are expected to be able to carry out delivery controls and final inspections of completed installations. Your tasks will involve creating and maintaining networks, and you will have many points of contact both internally and externally. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in the security protection unit as well as with other colleagues within the organization. You will also assist managers and project leaders with support in the area of security protection.
About the Unit
You will be part of the security protection unit, which is placed directly under the Director General. The security protection unit directs and supports the agency's operations in its security protection work. We are represented at all FOI locations. The placement for this position is in Linköping and/or Kista.
Do you have the competence profile we need?
Requirements
- Current and relevant security protection training, for example, from the Armed Forces or through the Theft Protection Association (SSF) or similar that FOI assesses as equivalent
- Experience in operational and administrative security protection work
- Provide support and advice on security protection issues
- System understanding within IT and IT security.
- System understanding of technical security systems in an integrated environment.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
As a person, you have high integrity and a strong security awareness. You work in a structured manner, are self-driven, and take responsibility for your tasks. You have good communication skills, are service-oriented, and find it easy to collaborate. Through your way of working, you contribute to a good collaborative climate. You are flexible and have the ability to adapt both yourself and your working methods to changing conditions.
Meritorious
We would like you to have experience working with security installations such as alarm, camera, and access control systems in integrated system solutions, preferably in a leading or coordinating role. Experience with mechanical burglary protection and working with overarching systems is also valuable, as is experience from similar operations within the public sector. You are accustomed to working in CAD programs and have a good understanding of the structure of IT networks and IT security. Experience in establishing, structuring, and maintaining technical documentation for complex technical security systems is desirable. A driver's license (B) is an advantage.

The position is a permanent employment that may begin with a six-month probationary period.
