About the Job

With us, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you can use and develop your nursing skills. Working as a care assistant and extra resource in a care department means that you rarely know what your workday will look like. You work closely with patients and become an important part of a team. The tasks vary and include, among other things:

• Nursing work.
• Supervision of patients or watch duties, which involve ensuring that patients do not get out of bed or fall, as well as calming patients when they are anxious.
• Basic nursing such as showering, washing, dressing and undressing, focusing on supporting the patient in maintaining and improving their functions.
• Supporting patients during meals, personal hygiene, and transfers.

In your role, you will meet patients with different needs, illnesses, and diagnoses, which gives you the opportunity to face new challenges and grow in your profession and as a person, with the support of more experienced colleagues.

You will become an important part of our operations and contribute to safe and meaningful care for our patients. At the same time, you will build valuable contacts and experiences that can shape your future in healthcare.

The position is full-time or by agreement, with shifts every other weekend. You will work either day/evening or night with irregular working hours.

It is an advantage if you can work eight consecutive weeks during our summer period. The summer period at Halland Hospital runs from week 23 to 34.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a basic security and respect for the individual. If you are also curious and have a general interest in people, as well as a helpful personality, it is a great advantage.

For the job to work well, you need to be attentive, present, and empathetic. Common sense and good judgment are your tools. You must be willing to take initiative but also be unpretentious regarding tasks, to complement other staff in the department.

You must be at least 18 years old, and we prefer that you have started a healthcare-related education. This could be training to become a doctor, nurse, assistant nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or similar. Alternatively, you may have other education that the employer deems suitable, or experience in care work, such as a personal assistant or care assistant.

You must be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.
