Do you want to combine deep technical expertise in concrete structures with business responsibility and customer development? RISE is looking for a concrete investigator/designer who wants to drive qualified assignments, develop customer relationships, and contribute to the sustainable infrastructure of the future.
Our operations in Stockholm are growing, and therefore we are looking for someone who wants to drive technically complex assignments and contribute to our continued development in concrete investigations.
About us RISE is Sweden's research institute and innovation partner. Our mission is to strengthen the competitiveness of the business sector and contribute to sustainable societal development through applied research, development, and qualified technical services.
The Material Design unit within the Infrastructure and Concrete Construction department at the Building Division works with advanced investigation, research, and development in concrete and its components. We combine deep material knowledge with construction engineering expertise and operate at the intersection of research and practical application. The unit has 20 researchers, investigators, and project managers in Stockholm, Borås, and Gothenburg.
Our strategic areas include, among others:
Concrete technology and structural analysis
Advanced condition assessment
Repair and strengthening of existing structures
Recycling and carbon sinks
Alternative binders
3D printing of concrete
The investigation group consists of five senior investigators who work with damage investigations, condition assessments, and technically complex projects within critical infrastructure.
About the role As a concrete investigator with a civil engineering or designer background, you will use your expertise to assess existing structures, identify needs for reinforcements, and propose effective repair measures. You will drive your own projects, build long-term customer relationships, and contribute your experience throughout the process – from planning and calculations to implementation and reporting.
The role combines office work with practical fieldwork on construction sites and also involves travel as part of the projects. Your knowledge of modern techniques, such as non-destructive testing and monitoring systems, enables you to develop solutions that are at the forefront of the industry's needs.
We value strong collaboration and communication skills. You will lead the technical implementation of projects, ensure that timelines and budgets are followed, and report results to our customers. As part of our team, you will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and develop our business area for heavy constructions, total defense, and 3D printing of concrete.
Do you want to work in an innovative environment with a significant impact on project results and industry development? Then this is the role for you.
The position is located in Stockholm.
Who are you? We are looking for someone who is a civil engineer in road and water, civil engineering, or equivalent, with several years of experience in qualified assignments within concrete structures.
Requirements:
Master's degree in civil engineering with solid experience in technical assignments (design and assessment) of concrete structures, or other education that we together with experience assess as equivalent.
Experience in designing concrete structures according to relevant regulations and standards
Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Driver's license B.
Documented experience in at least one of the following areas:
Damage investigation and condition assessment
Non-destructive testing and monitoring methods
Repair and strengthening
Heavy concrete structures
Meritorious:
Experience in business responsibility or project management
Established network within the construction, real estate, or infrastructure sector
Good knowledge of English
Personal qualities: You are technically secure, analytical, and used to taking independent responsibility. You have a business-oriented approach and are driven to develop both assignments and customer relationships. You thrive in dialogue with clients and can translate complex technical analysis into clear and well-founded recommendations.
