LKAB Malmtrafik

LKAB Malmtrafik is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting LKAB's iron ore products on the Malmbanan railway. We transport from the mines in Kiruna and Malmberget to the ports in Luleå and Narvik, as well as to SSAB in Luleå.

Your role

As a locomotive technician at LKAB Malmtrafik, you play a central role in our modernization and overhaul of our unique IORE locomotives. You will work on mechanical modifications, preparations, and follow-up work to ensure the highest quality of the locomotives. The project is in an exciting development phase where you contribute to creating structure, order, and routines for future working methods. The work is carried out in close collaboration with a team of 4 people within modernization, as well as supporting the overhaul work as needed.

Your main tasks include:

• Mechanical work during the modification of our locomotives, including drilling, assembly, and adjustment according to drawings.
• Preparations for modernization, such as gathering and kit-packing materials and equipment.
• Follow-up work to ensure that the work meets our quality requirements.
• Building and documenting routines and work instructions as well as developing workstations.
• The role also involves significant responsibility for performing the work correctly and according to established drawings and specifications.

What you bring with you

You are a structured and confident person who enjoys creating order and clarity. You have a strong focus on quality and the ability to work according to clear processes. We are looking for someone with analytical skills who can contribute to developing and improving our working methods and routines.

It is a requirement that you have:

• Approved high school education
• Mechanical background, either through education or experience as a mechanic or assembler
• Driver's license B
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• The position also requires that you meet certain health requirements such as good vision, normal color vision, and good hearing.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Education in electrical engineering
• Experience working in the maintenance system Maximo
