Job Advertisement: Seasonal Workers for Park and Coast

The Technical and Property Management Department provides internal services so that our colleagues in other operations can focus on their core activities. We are responsible for the operation and development of public land and issue permits so that the municipal group and businesses can conduct their operations. We also ensure that children, students, and care recipients receive good and nutritious food and that the municipality's premises are well-maintained and suitable for their purpose.

The Technical Department currently has about 150 employees divided into five units: street, park, projects, coast and green areas, as well as vehicles and internal services. We have a multifaceted operation where we, among other things, manage and maintain the municipality's streets and park areas in all urban areas, as well as land for forests, boats, swimming, and outdoor activities.

We are now looking for three seasonal workers for the park and coast and green areas units.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a park worker, you will, together with your supervisor and colleagues, be responsible for the operation and maintenance of your district's municipal parks, green areas, natural land, and maintenance tasks for outdoor environments at schools/kindergartens.

The management provides you and the work team with the right conditions so that you can work independently and drive the work forward during the day.

We work based on Kalmar Municipality's vision "Together we make Kalmar even better for everyone and become Sweden's best municipality to live in," which means a strong focus on collaboration within the unit but also between the various operations of the Technical Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with education in green area maintenance or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You have good plant knowledge as well as experience and knowledge in tasks such as planting, pruning, caring for perennials, mowing, trimming, and cleaning. If you have a brush cutter license and good machinery experience, that is a plus.

To thrive in the role, you need to be self-driven, able to take responsibility for your tasks, and have the ability to drive the process forward. You are structured, organized, and have the ability to plan and prioritize your work. It is important to us that you are persistent and work until results are achieved. We also see that you have good self-awareness and are confident in yourself.
