The Church of Sweden in Arvika is looking for cemetery workers for the 2026 season

During the spring, summer, and autumn, our cemeteries need a little extra care.

The Church of Sweden in Arvika is responsible for burial and cremation services covering the entire Arvika municipality. Within the administrative area, there are ten cemeteries: Arvika, Ny, Älgå, Glava, Stavnäs, Högerud, Brunskog, Mangskog, Gunnarskog, and Bogen.

During the spring, summer, and autumn, our cemeteries need a little extra care. For the 2026 season, we are therefore looking for cemetery workers. The employment period will be adjusted based on the needs and may possibly be extended during the season.

Qualifications

As a cemetery worker, you need to be service-oriented, flexible, and driven. We prefer that you have experience in green space maintenance and ideally have education in gardening or landscaping. TYA vocational certificate is an advantage. A valid B driver's license is required, no automatic transmission license.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities of a cemetery worker include performing all tasks that occur in a cemetery, such as maintenance, operation, and upkeep. The cemetery is a public place with many visitors every day, so it is important that it is maintained with care and that those who work in the cemetery treat visitors with consideration and respect.

About the Employment

The employment is a seasonal position limited to a period of about three months with the possibility of extension, maximum 7 months in total. Working hours are fixed between 07:00 and 16:00 unless circumstances require otherwise. Salary: Monthly salary.
