The Individual and Family Care department works to provide support and assistance to children, youth, adults, and families in vulnerable situations. Our mission is to create security, promote good living conditions, and strengthen individual independence – always with the person at the center.
Our unit consists of a team of experienced social workers, many with extensive experience in their specific areas!
Our unit includes the reception team, which is the entry point to the municipality's social support (social services) for children, youth, families, and adults. It also includes the child team, which investigates and follows up on approved interventions for children and youth, the foster care team that works with our placed children and supports our foster homes, and the adult team that focuses on social change work related to domestic violence, social psychiatry, and harmful use and addiction.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Social Worker, you will provide support and guidance in daily work to the social workers in our reception, child team, and foster care team. The main task for the Senior Social Worker is to conduct structured case reviews regularly, provide case supervision in daily work, and offer methodological guidance, both individually and in groups. This also means being an additional guarantee that cases are updated and handled from a child perspective and legal security.
This is a responsible job that requires you to be structured, legally secure, and documentation secure. It also requires you to be pedagogical, secure, communicative, and have a good ability to collaborate with everyone. You have a strong commitment and extensive knowledge of current laws, primarily SoL, LVU, and LBSB. Furthermore, you need to be comfortable representing the unit in committees and boards and also in court if necessary. This naturally requires that you are good at expressing yourself both verbally and in writing.
As a Senior Social Worker, you will:
- Lead team and individual supervision.
- Act as an expert and support social workers in their daily work.
- Follow court rulings, laws, and developments in the field.
- Be responsible for reviewing case management according to applicable legislation and guidelines, considering the best interests of the child or young person.
- Identify and drive improvement proposals.
- Maintain routines within the unit and highlight needs for updates and changes.
- Represent cases before the board, administrative court, and administrative court of appeal.
- Your assignment will be in close collaboration with the unit manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
The assignment requires detailed knowledge of children and youth and a good ability to stay updated in the field. We are looking for someone who is a social worker, has several years of relevant experience in authority exercise according to legislation concerning children and youth. You are also accustomed to working in a politically governed organization.
You should have good administrative skills and the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing. You have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up your work, ensuring that tasks are completed and feedback is provided in a timely manner. You have a significant responsibility in setting the tone for how we meet the families we encounter, with the best interests of the child or young person in focus.
You are communicative, clear, attentive, and humble in your role, and have the ability to formulate information or messages so that everyone understands. You are secure and stable in yourself and in your work. You maintain calm and have the ability to keep the right focus even in pressured and complex situations. You have a good ability to coach, motivate, and challenge employees to develop in their work, even those with extensive experience. In this recruitment, great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Mandatory requirements:
- You are a social worker.
- You have several years of documented experience in social services authority exercise focused on children, youth, and families.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in domestic violence is a requirement.
- You have a good ability to communicate, collaborate, treat others with respect, and implement decisions made.
- You are motivating and encouraging, contributing to a good team spirit.
- You have experience working in a politically governed organization and understand how it affects your daily work situation.
- You are digitally savvy and easily express yourself in speech and writing.
- Possession of a B driver's license.
Desirable qualifications:
- Leadership experience is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of attachment, solution-focused conversation methods, and children's normal development is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of children committing serious crimes and gang-related crime is desirable.
