Description
The Lindholmen Upper Secondary School area includes Polhem High School, Lindholmen Technical High School, Bräcke High School, Ester Mosessons High School, and the Center for Language Introduction.
We are now looking for a janitor primarily placed at Polhem High School. The school has four college preparatory programs as well as the IMA program, approximately 1,700 students and 130 employees.
The service organization is an internal service and support function for the school, responsible for good service as well as maintaining high quality. Our service organization is responsible for properties, school meals, cleaning, inventory, and janitorial services.
Job Responsibilities
As a janitor, you are a key person in the school's daily operations. You, together with the service manager and service technician, are responsible for ensuring that our premises and inventory are safe and functional. Your work is crucial in creating a good and safe study and work environment for our students and staff.
Your job responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that technical equipment such as projectors and copiers are functioning.
- Managing access control systems and alarms (ARX).
- Being part of the school's fire protection organization and actively driving and maintaining the Systematic Fire Protection Work (SBA).
- Administering service requests and coordinating external actors and our property owner Älvstranden Utveckling AB and the City Property Management.
- Conducting operational rounds and working with preventive measures and minor repairs in the properties.
- Handling mail and packages as well as internal distribution.
- Logistics issues including moving materials/furniture, organizing school environments, etc.
- Shared responsibility for ensuring that waste management is handled correctly, managing and removing waste, and actively working to optimize the school's recycling.
You will work closely with a team of about 9 colleagues in cleaning and janitorial services, as well as a present manager. Together, you create a safe, solution-oriented, and professional service flow for the school's staff and students.
Qualifications
The most important qualities for this position are a strong interest in facility issues and technology, a willingness to work together with others, and a concern for our customers. You enjoy repairing and maintaining everything that can be found in our premises. For this, you need to be a natural problem solver.
We are looking for someone who is both technically competent and service-oriented with a strong commitment to creating a functioning school environment. You have a high degree of self-motivation, but you are also a team player with good collaborative skills.
We see that you have:
- Post-secondary education in property management, technology, or similar (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience working with property-related issues and AV technology.
- Familiarity with working in case management systems.
- Experience with locking and alarm systems (ARX) and systematic fire protection work (SBA).
- Very good computer skills and the ability to work in various systems, as the position requires some administration.
- The ability to communicate clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Driver's license B.
The work is varied and practical, which requires good physical fitness and mobility. You need to be able to handle heavy lifting and varying physical challenges that are part of the daily service.
