ABOUT GRAND HÔTEL'S EVENT OPERATIONS
At Grand Hôtel, a large number of events are held annually – conferences, corporate events, private dinners, weddings, state visits, and international galas.
The hotel features 23 unique event venues, including the iconic Winter Garden and the classic Mirror Hall, which are some of our most well-known rooms.

To continue developing and ensuring the quality of our event department, we are now looking for an Event Manager Head Waiter who wants to lead our team of service staff during the execution of events. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in food and drink and has the ability to guide our guests to a memorable experience.
The work is scheduled for both weekdays and weekends, with working hours during both day and evening – with a focus on evening shifts.
THE TEAM
The team you will lead consists of several permanent waiters, runners, and furniture staff. Within the team, there is strong competence and extensive experience in event execution. The group is characterized by camaraderie and a desire to always have fun together.
As a head waiter, you will also have close communication with the project managers, kitchens, and other departments involved in the events, with the goal of ensuring high guest satisfaction.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Event Manager Head Waiter, you are responsible for the operational management and ensuring that our Leading Standards are followed to guarantee five-star service. You ensure that operations maintain the highest level in terms of quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
You are the guests' primary contact during events and a natural leader for the service team. The role requires you to be a confident leader who can delegate, take responsibility, and maintain a holistic view. You switch quickly between tasks and are present where the need is greatest.
You are the operationally responsible head waiter for the Event Department and actively participate in creating fantastic events from start to finish.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee upcoming events and bookings
Plan, staff, and follow up
Maintain close communication with the kitchen and ensure quality service
Stay updated on finances and optimize orders and inventory
Actively participate in training and development of staff
Ensure that staff behavior and competence align with Grand Hôtel's goals
Contribute to good communication with other departments
Ensure compliance with laws and agreements
Speak in front of larger groups in Swedish and English when needed
WHO ARE YOU?
You are a positive, structured, and passionate person
You are confident in yourself and your professional role
You have a warm personality and a natural smile
You have several years of professional experience in restaurants, events, or banquets – preferably with international experience and from both small and large events
You have experience leading teams
You have documented education in the field or equivalent experience
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written (additional languages are a plus)
