Firing Range Craftsman at Livgardet

The Training Unit at Livgardet is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the firing ranges in Kungsängen and Marma. Livgardet is now seeking a firing range craftsman for the training and firing range in Kungsängen, Upplands-Bro municipality.

Main Responsibilities

The work includes, among other things, the receipt and delivery of target materials. Implementation of operational and maintenance measures on machines, shooting ranges, firing fields, and target materials. The work also includes welding and operating construction machinery. The ideal candidate should have technical knowledge and experience with heavy vehicles and earthworks.

The work may also involve other activities within the training and firing range, such as firefighting, supervising personnel, training on relevant equipment and facilities, boat service, and more. Our goal is for the individual to eventually acquire a broad competence to assist throughout the department.

Qualifications

  • High school/post-secondary education with a vocational focus on technology and heavy vehicles or a relevant field.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Good physical ability
  • Driver's license class B

Meritorious

  • Completed military training
  • Good pedagogical ability to educate
  • Experience with heavy vehicles (e.g., tractor/loader, excavator, and wheel loader)
  • Fire training for forest and land fires
  • Ability to lead a small team
  • Military driver's license for vehicles
  • Metalworking
  • Higher driving license categories

Personal Qualities

The work as a firing range craftsman requires you to be responsible, independent, creative, cooperative, and outgoing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and ability to collaborate.

Additional Information

Employment type: Permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: 100%

Work location: Kungsängen, Upplands-Bro municipality

Start date: As soon as possible or by agreement

Evening and weekend work may occur in the position.

A physical ability test may be conducted during a potential job interview.

Livgardet is one of the largest units in the Armed Forces with roots dating back to 1521. We train tomorrow's soldiers, as well as military police and personnel who will carry out international missions. We guard the royal palaces, we have security and ground combat units. Our headquarters is in Kungsängen outside Stockholm, but we are also located in Sollentuna, central Stockholm, Uppsala, Gothenburg, and Karlskrona.
