Our client is an established player in the railway industry, working on technically advanced projects related to the modernization and assurance of future train traffic. With high demands on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, the company plays a central role in the implementation of new signaling systems within the railway.

As a train technician focusing on ETCS installation, you will work with the installation, adaptation, and verification of ETCS equipment (European Train Control System) on railway vehicles. The work involves both hardware and software and takes place in depot or workshop environments, often in project form.

Your tasks may include:

• Installation and modification of ETCS onboard equipment (OBU)

• Cabling, assembly, and connection of electrical systems and components

• Adaptation and basic configuration of software

• Verification, testing, and validation of installed systems

• Work according to technical specifications, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings

• Documentation of completed work according to applicable requirements and standards

• Collaboration with project management, other technical functions, and suppliers

• Ensuring that the work complies with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

You have a high school education in electrical engineering, automation, telecommunications, vehicles, or technology, or equivalent documented work experience. You have experience in the installation or modification of technical systems, preferably within trains, rail vehicles, or other safety-critical industries, and are accustomed to working in workshop or depot environments. You have very good knowledge of electrical systems, cabling, and installation techniques, as well as the ability to read and work according to wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and technical specifications. You also have experience working with measurement and testing equipment and documentation according to established requirements. Experience with ETCS onboard equipment, ERTMS projects, and verification and validation of safety-critical systems is a plus.

As a person, you are meticulous, methodical, and structured with a strong focus on quality. You are responsible, reliable, and enjoy working on technical projects where collaboration and clear processes are crucial. Safety is an obvious part of your working method, and you follow instructions and regulations with great care while having the ability to identify deviations.
