Production Assistant at Stockholm City Mission

Stockholm City Mission operates several businesses in the form of social enterprises aimed at helping people approach the labor market. Second hand is run as a social enterprise and the operation makes a significant social and climate impact by creating jobs and collecting clothes/items. In our collection center, items and textiles are sorted, valued, and transported to our 26 stores.

We are now looking for an experienced production assistant with knowledge of items and clothing!

The production unit is a very important department for all other operations to function as well as possible. All donations made to us pass through this unit before being distributed to the stores and finally reaching our customers. As a production assistant, your task will be to quickly and safely sort, value, and pack incoming donations. You may also work with order picking and distribution or other delivery tasks. You will work with our standard assortment and we are looking for someone with documented experience in valuing both items and clothing.

The position is full-time (40h/week) and working hours are Monday to Friday from 07:35 to 16:20. We are looking for someone with a strong, broad, and genuine interest in second hand – both clothing and items. You should enjoy a fast-paced and physical job where we work together as a team. We value inquisitive and proactive employees! You must be at least 18 years old and have documented experience in valuing clothing and items.

To thrive in this role, you need to be a team player who is driven, self-sufficient, structured, and flexible as you will need to switch tasks several times a day. The work is physically demanding and requires you to be able to change pace without losing focus.

As a team member, we are looking for someone who:

• speaks and understands Swedish
• has at least 1 year of experience in a similar second-hand operation where sorting and valuation play a significant role
• has a low-affective approach
• has documented experience in valuing items and clothing
• is a good educator and enjoys working in a group
• has insight into people's differences
