About the operation

The diseases we investigate and treat are much more than just "crooked fingers". We have the opportunity to provide our patients with lifelong care characterized by knowledge, security, and compassion. High and good accessibility for our patients, who are often very satisfied with their contact with us. Through research and the treatment methods available today, the majority of our patients in rheumatology can live normally.

The operation has two clinics, one located at Sahlgrenska Hospital and one at Mölndal Hospital. The clinics are open during the day, and once a month we have evening clinics at Sahlgrenska Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

The nurses in the operation primarily work within; nurse clinics including handling test results, telephone advice, and advice via 1177. The tasks are varied and require competence in advanced matters. Examples of tasks include:

• drop-in visits to the nurse
• telephone advice where you independently address patients' inquiries and assess further actions
• handling and signing of test results, a significant part as many of the medications our patients are on require control testing
• assessing the need for booking emergency appointments with doctors
• conducting follow-up conversations with patients
• some sample collection
• administering medications and, if necessary, assisting doctors with certain treatments
• patient education sessions where the nurse has a clear and defined role focusing on ensuring well-informed and secure patients
• conducting medication information and training in injection techniques for medication syringes

Additionally, we work cross-professionally around the patient with nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.

What do we offer?

As a new nurse with us, you will receive training from an experienced nurse, who will then act as your mentor. We want you to feel secure, and there is always someone nearby when you need support. We have planned outpatient clinics at Mölndal Hospital and Sahlgrenska Hospital but can offer some rotation to our Rheumatology department or day care unit IC at Sahlgrenska Hospital.

The nursing group has time for professional development, and we have our own training that gives you the opportunity to become a specialized nurse in rheumatology and then receive patients in our specialized nurse clinic, which includes assessment of joint status.

Who are we looking for?

We are now looking for you who are a licensed nurse, with a few years of work experience as a nurse, preferably with experience in outpatient work and/or knowledge in rheumatology. As a person, you are good at working independently and in a team. You are clear in your communication when interacting with colleagues and patients.
