We are looking for a Strategic Buyer to support strategic sourcing and purchasing within a defined commodity area in the automotive industry. You will take an active role in driving cost reduction initiatives, shaping segment strategies, and building strong supplier relationships in a dynamic market environment.

The role suits someone who works independently, enjoys complex challenges, and can contribute to improvement and transformation initiatives such as digitalization and sustainability.

• Initiate and drive strategic sourcing initiatives and cost reduction activities within the commodity area.
• Develop and implement segment strategies in your area of responsibility.
• Establish supplier relationship management processes and set continuous improvement goals and programs.
• Negotiate contracts and coordinate supplier integration plans with internal stakeholders.
• Monitor market dynamics affecting availability and pricing of materials and services.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.
• Manage projects and processes with limited supervision.
• Coach and review the work of more junior colleagues when relevant.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and/or strategic purchasing.
• Proven ability to drive sourcing initiatives, cost reduction, and supplier negotiations.
• Experience developing and implementing category/segment strategies.
• Experience with supplier relationship management and continuous improvement work.
• Ability to work independently in complex stakeholder and market contexts.

• Experience driving transformation initiatives related to digitalization and sustainability.
• Experience from Volvo.
