Our Operations

The orthopedic day surgery is in an expansive phase, where the number of operating rooms is set to increase.

We who work in orthopedic day surgery are operating room nurses, anesthesia nurses, nursing assistants, orthopedists, and anesthesiologists. We perform day surgery operations in hand, fracture, shoulder/knee, and foot surgery. To carry out the day's surgical program, we strive for good flows of operations. Our patients are well prepared for this type of care and go home a few hours after the operation. We are a small unit that works closely together with the patient in focus.

Our department is divided into inpatient care and a day surgery part that has its own pre-/post-operative unit in close proximity to the operating rooms.

Your Mission

As a specialist nurse with us in the day surgery unit, you will become part of a skilled team where we support and help each other in the operating room work.

We offer individually tailored onboarding based on previous experiences. Together with the deputy department manager, you will set up your professional development plan. Professional development occurs through continuing education, improvement work, working groups, and projects. To continue to develop and be inspired in your profession, you have the opportunity to participate in courses and conferences.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with a specialist nursing degree focused on anesthesia nursing.

We want you to always put the patient in focus and be responsible and motivated in your work. Your thoughts and ideas are important pieces for us in the continued development work. Therefore, we see you as a person who enjoys contributing your knowledge, ideas, and enthusiasm. Being motivated by change and improvement work is a given for us. We also see that you are flexible, structured, and have a good ability to prioritize in daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position, daytime, with access after the summer.

If you use public transport, there is an option for a net deduction for an annual ticket on UL, and you can also salary exchange for a staff car or for pension. We have our own wellness facility, Friskhuset, where all employees within Region Uppsala are welcome to train in the gym, participate in group training sessions, book massages, and personal trainers. A wide range of courses and lectures, physiotherapy, ergonomics, and transfer training are also offered there.
