About the Workplace

At the Knowledge Office, about thirty employees work with expertise in student health, finance, HR, administration, and IT. Here, engagement and knowledge come together to provide the necessary support for the operations to succeed. We are currently undergoing a reorganization that strengthens our ability to provide coordinated, legally secure, and operational support. The change means clearer governance, a more transparent structure, and consolidated expertise in areas such as IT. The goal is to create better collaboration, more efficient processes, and an organization that develops together.

The new operational area, Preschool and Administrative Support, includes Sandviken municipality's preschool operations, led by two principals, as well as the newly established IT unit and the administrative unit with ten employees.

Sandviken municipality's preschools and schools are governed by both national and municipal goals. Each unit follows up and evaluates its operations, conducts a result analysis, and formulates development measures. It is of utmost importance that everyone in the organization sees and takes responsibility for the common mission to achieve a quality education system where children and students, regardless of background, can develop as far as possible. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Head of Preschool and Administrative Support, you will:

  • Be responsible for strategic and operational leadership and development within the operational area
  • Support principals in systematic quality work, follow-up, and analysis
  • Ensure that the operations comply with the Education Act, curriculum, and municipal goals
  • Lead and develop administrative processes for the administrative office
  • Develop, implement, and lead the safety organization for the administration
  • Lead and develop the school transport work

In the role, you are expected to:

  • Contribute to a cohesive and development-oriented administration
  • Ensure that decisions and actions are based on a holistic perspective and common goals
  • Create structures that promote collaboration, dialogue, and learning between school forms and support functions

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role, we believe you are an experienced, development-oriented, and structured leader with experience in managing change processes in complex contexts. You have good collaboration skills and a flexible approach based on trust in your employees. Furthermore, you have a good ability to see the big picture and drive strategic development issues.

You have:

  • Relevant academic education
  • Experience in strategic leadership within a politically governed organization
  • Managerial experience

Meritorious

  • Experience in leading in a matrix organization or with shared responsibility
  • Experience as a manager of managers
  • Experience in administrative development
  • Knowledge of education legislation and the responsibilities of the principal
  • Academic leadership training
  • We are looking for someone who is relationship-building, communicative, and enjoys a varied role with many contact points and areas of collaboration.
