Within the Department of Children and Education, our approximately 3,000 employees meet around 14,000 children and students in more than 100 preschools and schools throughout the municipality every day. Your New Workplace

As a local manager, you will work with local issues within the department's area of responsibility, and you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the work.

You will report directly to the local strategist. The main focus of this position includes the operations of primary schools. You are expected to be close to operations and have a good understanding of our primary schools' use of space and needs. The tasks will be coordinated with the local strategist, operations manager, and other local managers.

Your Contribution as a Local Manager

Examples of tasks:

• Support risk managers in matters concerning systematic fire protection and risk management work.
• Support school leaders regarding issues during visits from supervisory authorities and other similar inspections or visits.
• Financial follow-up and critical control to ensure we have suitable premises with high utilization rates.
• Dialogue with Drakfastigheter regarding management and maintenance.
• Provide professional support to the operations during renovations and investment projects.
• Act as project manager for smaller renovations/measures on properties.
• Set requirements for cleaning and other purchased services.
• Conduct special investigations in the area.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in the field and a relevant academic education. You have previous experience in strategic work, preferably related to premises and properties. You are a proficient IT user and can handle the Office suite without issues. The position of local manager requires managing various IT systems, and you are comfortable with this.

You should be someone who independently leads and drives your own work, but it is also important that you work from a consultative approach. You have good social and communication skills and enjoy working both independently and in teams. It is a plus if you have previously worked in a politically governed organization. It is advantageous if you have experience as a leader, are familiar with project management, and possess knowledge of school operations, as well as experience in property issues or several years of work experience that the employer deems equivalent.

To succeed in this role, you need personal maturity and the ability to conduct communicative leadership to convey messages and create understanding of the operations. You are development-oriented with the ability to set goals and make decisions to achieve desired results. The assignment requires you to be driven, persistent, and have excellent collaboration skills. As a person, you are strategic, able to see the role and responsibility of the department, as well as how it connects with the municipality as a whole.

You are proactive, structured, and initiate development within your area of responsibility, and you understand how different conditions affect various processes in the operations. You also have the courage and ability to communicate both upwards and downwards in the organization. A B driver's license is a requirement.
