Summer Temporary Positions in Elderly Care and Support Services

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for summer temporary staff for several of our care and support services in Nynäshamn municipality.

The home care service is aimed at elderly individuals and enables them to stay in their homes. The work includes assistance with personal hygiene and care, cleaning, support during meals, and light cooking. Being able to cycle and having good cycling skills is a requirement. The home care service is responsible for users in Nynäshamn's urban area. The night patrol and safety patrol are responsible for all users throughout the municipality.

Special housing for the elderly is where elderly individuals who need assistance for a large part of the day reside. The work consists of help, support, and encouragement in daily living, including personal hygiene and care. There is also daily activity for elderly individuals living at home.

Group and service housing for individuals with support needs. Here you support individuals in their daily lives, always focusing on self-determination, participation, and independence. Job tasks include cooking, assistance/support with personal care and hygiene, and support during various leisure activities.

In all operations, there are varying working hours, day, evening, weekend, as well as sleeping on-call or awake night shifts. We work with Timecare planning as a scheduling tool, and the work includes documentation according to legislation.

About the Workplace

The main mission of the Social Administration is to offer individualized support and services within elderly care, disability, children and families, adults, and financial assistance. We are present for the municipality's residents through all stages of life.

Nynäshamn's municipal home care service is dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive work environment. With us, you have the opportunity to be challenged and develop while contributing to the well-being of our residents. We have about 90 employees responsible for providing home care services to 220 users in ordinary housing. In addition to regular home care, the safety patrol and night patrol are also included to ensure care and safety around the clock.

In our special housing, we have an individualized approach based on a user perspective and work for increased user influence, placing the individual at the center. The operations work together in teams with nursing assistants/care assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, focusing on the residents. The municipality has four special housing facilities, two in Nynäshamn, one in Ösmo, and one in Sorunda.

In our group and service housing, we provide support to individuals who have been granted services under the Act on Support and Service (LSS) for certain disabilities. We place great importance on meeting the individual with respect and encouraging the person's ability to take responsibility. We believe in courage, openness, and commitment to create trust and respect - both in our interactions with our residents and in collaboration with each other.

What We Are Looking For in You

To succeed in this role, you have:

• experience in the above-described areas of work
• basic computer skills
• good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• good cycling skills (applicable to home care)
• B driver's license and good driving experience (applicable to the safety patrol and night patrol)
• turned 18 years old
• availability to work the entire summer (June, July, August).

It is advantageous if you have:

• education as a nursing assistant or other relevant education
• experience in elderly care and support services
• experience in social documentation.
