Traffic Department
Traffic and Society is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. Our department employs approximately 110 staff members. Our mission is to develop and manage sustainable transportation for a growing Uppsala County. We develop infrastructure and public transport within the county. Under the brand UL, public transport is operated in collaboration with contracted transport companies. We are now looking for a contract manager for the areas of city buses in Uppsala and local and school bus traffic to drive and develop customer delivery with a focus on better effectiveness in our contracts and to create greater value for the customer.
Your Mission
The bus contract manager is responsible for the traffic contracts as a whole within the areas of city buses in Uppsala and local and school traffic. This includes planning follow-up and gathering and leading a cross-functional team across all departments that have expertise within the contract to drive and develop customer delivery. In your role, you will plan how the agreed goals for the business are followed up and be responsible for initiating and following up on improvement and development activities, such as customer-enhancing measures and actions to ensure contract compliance. Since there are several contract managers in the department, parts of the work may involve coordination and support for those responsible for other contracts within buses, trains, and trams.
Initiating, implementing, and following up on investigation and development work is an important part of your job. The work includes analyzing contracts, metrics, and preparing materials for negotiations. In addition to internal coordination within the administration and Region Uppsala, you will have close contact with partners such as municipalities, transport companies, and other regional public transport authorities.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is responsible, driven, and proactive. You are structured with good administrative skills. The position involves many points of contact, so you need to have good collaboration skills while also being able to maintain a business-like professionalism. You are stable, have a holistic view, and maintain a realistic perspective on situations, focusing on the right things even in pressured situations. You lead, motivate, and empower others to effectively achieve common goals while creating engagement and participation. You take initiative and start activities that yield results; you are goal- and results-oriented in your work style and plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively based on timelines and quality standards.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
Requirements:
- Experience in business development and working cross-functionally.
- Experience in negotiating and following up complex contracts.
- Post-secondary education in economics, law, logistics, or management, or extensive work experience in one or more of these areas.
- Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
- Good digital skills.
Meritorious:
- Experience working with larger public procurements.
- Experience in the public transport industry.
