The Role of the Nurse

As a nurse with us, you will work with the care of our patients in the ward. Common tasks include end-of-life care, acute interventions, and managing technical equipment. Our patients have pulmonary medical diagnoses, including lung cancer, COPD, and endocrinological conditions. Your work is independent, and you will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to meet the needs of the patients. Your Future Workplace

Medical Care Unit C at the medical clinic at Ryhov County Hospital in Jönköping consists of 14 beds, divided between pulmonary medicine and endocrinology. Endocrinology includes diabetes, thyroid, and pituitary diseases. Here you have the opportunity to follow patients with newly diagnosed diabetes. If there is a suspected disease in the pituitary gland and thyroid, investigations are initiated with various hormone challenges performed by the nurses in the unit. Pulmonary medicine cares for patients with advanced lung diseases. Most patients are severely ill and are admitted acutely via the emergency department, day care, or outpatient clinic. Common diagnoses include lung cancer and COPD, and patients on ventilators are also cared for here. The unit provides both acute and palliative care.

We prefer that you have prior experience working in a ward, and as a person, you are secure and stable, working methodically and structured. A willingness to help each other is important, so we place great emphasis on qualities such as good collaboration skills and personal suitability.
