Purchasing Manager at Setra in Malå

Do you want to drive both operational and strategic purchasing in an industrial environment?

Setra in Malå is now integrating into the growing HS Group. We are looking for an experienced purchasing specialist who can take over full purchasing responsibility for the entire facility and manage both operational purchasing tasks and strategic procurement.

The role is suitable for you who want to combine hands-on operational work with strategic responsibility and who enjoys creating structure, efficiency, and long-term supplier relationships.

With us, you will be a key person responsible for the entire purchasing flow at the facility – from orders and supplier relationships to strategic sourcing and process development – working closely with production, logistics, maintenance, and the group's procurement team.

About the role

As Purchasing Manager, you have full responsibility for the purchasing operations – both at the operational and strategic level. You ensure that purchasing operates smoothly, cost-effectively, and in line with the group's strategies while developing processes, digital tools, and KPIs for increased governance and transparency.

Your main responsibilities

Overall purchasing responsibility

  • Full purchasing responsibility for the Malå facility at both operational and strategic levels
  • Primary contact for purchasing towards production, logistics, maintenance, technology, and Group Procurement
  • Ensure balance between local needs and group strategies

Operational purchasing

  • Responsible for order management, approvals, returns, and complaints
  • Ensure correct and updated ERP master data related to purchasing
  • Provide quick and pragmatic operational support to the business

Process development, digitalization & KPI

  • Analyze and improve local purchasing processes
  • Build, maintain, and follow up KPI structures and dashboards
  • Identify and implement quick improvement initiatives for increased efficiency, quality, and cost control

Strategic purchasing and sourcing

  • Develop and implement category strategies in collaboration with group purchasing
  • Conduct cost analyses and Total Cost of Ownership analyses
  • Drive strategic sourcing and supplier development projects

Contract and agreement management

  • Establish, review, and negotiate framework agreements, SLAs, and commercial terms
  • Ensure compliance with agreements and the group's purchasing framework

Integration with group purchasing

  • Implement and harmonize the group's commodity buyer concept at the facility level
  • Ensure that suppliers, agreements, and working methods follow the group's strategies
  • Active collaboration with purchasing stakeholders across the HS Group

Supplier relationships and negotiation

  • Build and develop long-term relationships with suppliers and strategic partners
  • Lead negotiations to ensure competitive, sustainable, and business-like terms

Close collaboration with the facility

  • Work closely with production, technology, maintenance, and logistics
  • Ensure appropriate sourcing, high delivery reliability, and quick problem-solving

Your background

  • Academic or technical education in business administration, industrial economics, engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in combined operational and strategic purchasing work
  • Experience from the manufacturing industry is highly meritorious
  • Documented experience in contract and framework agreement management, strategic sourcing, and supplier development
  • Good understanding of cost structures and purchasing economics

Systems & IT

  • Very good analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or SQL is meritorious
  • Familiar with working in ERP systems

Languages & travel

  • Business-level English in spoken and written form
  • German is meritorious
  • Travel up to approximately 15%, mainly regionally

  • Ability to manage many stakeholders in complex and politically sensitive environments
