Experienced Freight Train Driver Wanted

ProTrain is a railway company that operates its own traffic and offers staffing services. As a train driver with us, you will work from home and on a compressed schedule (8/6). You may be assigned to various tasks and locations throughout the country. In practice, many of our drivers work long on the same assignment, while others combine several assignments based on preferences and needs.

We are currently looking for more train drivers as our freight traffic is growing. We see a need both in timber transport for our customers in the forestry industry and in other types of freight operations. The work content varies – on some assignments, you will only drive electric or diesel locomotives, while on others, you will handle both. Some assignments involve radio locomotive driving in connection with loading and unloading at terminals.

A central part of the role is collaboration with planning staff, terminals, and in some cases, our customers. Therefore, you need to enjoy communicating and keeping relevant parties informed so that the entire logistics chain operates smoothly and efficiently.

• Compressed schedule: You work eight days at other locations, followed by six days off
• Full-time, permanent position with an initial probationary period
• Collective agreement, Track Agreement - Seko and ST
• Start date according to agreement

About the position

We are looking for someone who is a qualified and certified train driver with a valid train driver’s license and previous experience in freight traffic. The job requires you to be meticulous, independent, and have good communication skills – both internally and externally. As a train driver, you are often our representative on site, which makes customer focus and good collaboration important qualities.

We may also place importance on the match between our assignments and your experience with specific vehicle types and routes. Experience with Br187, RC3, RC4, TMZ, and T43 is advantageous, and knowledge of operations in Norway is highly desirable for certain assignments.

Due to the short timeframe before startup, we unfortunately cannot accommodate newly graduated drivers. If you are newly graduated or lack experience in freight traffic, you are warmly welcome to submit an expression of interest, and we will gladly match you with other assignments that may be a better fit.

With roots in the former SJ school in Mjölby, we have been training train drivers since 1977. Today, we offer basic training for train drivers at several locations in Sweden.
