The Street & Park Operations is part of the Technical and Service Office in Strängnäs Municipality and takes care of the green public space. We value and are passionate about the green and sustainable. We primarily work with the operation and maintenance of the municipality's public areas such as streets, squares, grass areas, plantings, playgrounds, and forests. We also ensure that waste management and winter road maintenance function properly. Staff are located in Strängnäs, Mariefred, Åkers Styckebruk, and Stallarholmen.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks will vary within park maintenance in a public environment. This means that you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the municipality's green spaces. This may include weeding, planting, watering, mowing, waste management, and emptying trash bins.

You will also, when needed, assist in the street environment. The work takes place outdoors year-round, so you should appreciate being outside in various weather conditions and enjoy beautifying our green environments.

The work can sometimes be physically demanding, which requires good physical fitness. The job is also varied and diverse. Since the work takes place in a public environment, you will daily meet, converse with, and answer questions from our residents. You work closely with your colleagues and actively contribute to a positive collaborative climate. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team, takes responsibility for their role, and is genuinely interested in the people they work with.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• a completed three-year upper secondary education.
• experience working in the public green space.
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• a B driver's license.

It is considered an advantage if you have:

• gardening education or other equivalent education.
• experience driving machinery, e.g., tractor, implement carrier.
• relevant training or equivalent competence for brush cutters and/or chainsaws.

Your personal qualities are important to us! You are engaged, meticulous, and responsible with a positive attitude. You find it easy to collaborate and contribute to a good working climate but can also work independently. You are open, flexible, and not afraid to pitch in where needed.
