About Us

The Education Office is Upplands Väsby's largest office with over 730 employees. The Education Office is responsible for all forms of education from preschool to adult education.

You will belong to the central child and student health department, which consists of about 25 employees with various competencies and assignments. The position covers municipal primary schools, adapted primary schools, and a high school. You will have your position divided both locally at the school and centrally at the Education Office.

About the Position

The position includes both assignments as a school psychologist and leadership responsibility for the psychologists (PLA).

As a PLA, you work to ensure that psychological work is conducted effectively, qualitatively, and safely. You are responsible for quality assurance and developing the psychologists' assignments as well as coordinating and organizing the internal work for the psychologist group. The group consists of three school psychologists, including the PLA. The assignment includes:

• Developing and refining routines for investigation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up of psychological interventions
• Preparing and coordinating the psychologists' professional meetings and peer supervision.
• Monitoring research and guidelines within psychology and student health
• Collaborating with colleagues, the medical management responsible, and other professionals to ensure a holistic view.

As a school psychologist, you are an important part of the school's student health team and collaborate with other professionals in the student health work led by the principal. The student health mission is to support students' development towards the goals of education through health-promoting and preventive measures.

The school psychologist's work is carried out within the framework of the Education Act and the Health and Medical Services Act. Typical tasks include consultation, supervision, training, and investigation of intellectual disabilities.

The school psychologist contributes psychological knowledge in organizational and development issues, through mapping, evaluation, and participation in the school's systematic quality work.

Are You the One We Are Looking For?

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed psychologist
• Has experience working as a school psychologist
• Has good knowledge of the school organization and its governing documents
• Has high competence in the investigation of intellectual disabilities
• Has good communication skills in speech and writing

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working as a PLA
• Supervision experience

The assignment involves many points of contact and collaboration takes place both internally and externally. Therefore, it is important that you are a responsive and communicative person who appreciates and has the ability to collaborate with others.

As a person, you are structured by working according to a clear process, organizing and planning your work well, completing what you have started, and meeting deadlines. Furthermore, you are analytical and solve problems without losing sight of long-term strategies, seeing logic and connections in complex information or environments.
