Your tasks

As a specialist nursing assistant at Valhornsgatan's dementia care facility, you will play a central role in supporting and caring for the residents in their daily lives. You will work together with other colleagues to provide individualized support and promote the residents' independence.

You will be responsible for practical care tasks such as assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, and medical interventions, as well as participating in the planning and follow-up of residents' implementation plans. Your expertise will also be used to guide colleagues and relatives and to contribute to quality development in the organization.

The work involves both social interaction and practical tasks, where you engage the residents in activities such as outdoor stays, singing, and cooking. You will work based on IBIC and a salutogenic approach, which means that you promote the residents' own abilities and create a safe and stimulating environment.

The position is 100% with work during the day, evening, and every other weekend. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!

Your workplace

Valhornsgatan's nursing home is located in the nature-friendly area of Nya Ullstämma with convenient connections from central Linköping. The facility consists of three pavilions and offers a total of 36 places, of which 24 are for people with dementia and 12 with a focus on psychiatry.

Here, we work with modern dementia care according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's national guidelines, with a strong focus on individualized care and continuous competence development. As a specialist nursing assistant, you will be part of a team that is passionate about creating safety and well-being for the residents.

In 2026, it is planned for Valhornsgatan's nursing home to be Star-marked according to the methods of the Swedish Dementia Center, and we are now looking for you who want to continue developing our cutting-edge dementia care. Who you are

We are looking for someone who has an approved education as a specialist nursing assistant with a focus on dementia, and has experience working in dementia care. It is an advantage if you have experience with BPSD. Additional merit for the position is if you have experience with IBIC (individual needs in focus).

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. You have the ability to use digital tools in your work and have experience documenting in journal systems.

As a person, you have good collaboration skills and are attentive in your approach. You communicate constructively and handle conflicts well. You are responsible, work independently, and drive processes forward. With good insight into others' perspectives, you adapt your approach according to the situation. You are confident, professional, and tailor your message to the recipient's needs and circumstances.
