We are now looking for guides for Naturum Trollskogen on northern Öland during the summer season of 2026.

The County Administrative Board of Kalmar County operates Naturum Trollskogen, located at the northeastern tip of Öland adjacent to the Trollskogen nature reserve, one of the county's most visited natural areas. Naturum has exhibitions that describe, explain, and provide an understanding of the area's natural values. We also organize activities to inspire visitors to venture into nature and discover more. Naturum is open and staffed from April to November. During the summer, we are open every day. The activities consist of guided tours in the naturum and the reserve. We have activities for both children and adults. Naturum Trollskogen also has a simple café, Café Tångsnällan, which mainly serves ice cream and coffee/tea during the summer.

Job Responsibilities

As a guide, you will participate in the daily operations of Naturum Trollskogen. This means welcoming and informing visitors in the naturum and leading various activities and guided tours. You will also assist in managing our café. Your responsibilities will also include cleaning the premises before and after closing. The work in the naturum is led by two naturum managers.

As a naturum guide, you will work according to a schedule. Some days, or parts of the day, you will work alone.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with expertise in biology, including knowledge of plants and animals. We would also like you to have experience in nature guidance or educational activities. Familiarity with Öland's nature, geology, and cultural history is also valued. You should have experience working outdoors with groups of people. You must have good knowledge of Swedish, English, and preferably German.

As a person, you are service-oriented and enjoy working with people. You find it easy to collaborate and engage others. The ability to communicate and adapt your message depending on the audience is a given for you. You are responsible and comfortable working independently and can work in a planned and structured way while still being flexible when circumstances change.

Conditions

The position is located at Naturum Trollskogen on northern Öland. We want to hire 2–4 people for the period from mid-June to mid or late August. The positions are seasonal and can be full-time or part-time.
