Temporary Position at Recycling Centers

Dala Vatten och Avfall is responsible for the operation, development, coordination, administration, and planning of water, sewage, and waste management services in Gagnef, Leksand, Rättvik, and Vansbro. The main office is located in Leksand.

Much of the work we do is neither seen nor heard, but it would be immediately noticeable if it ceased. Through planning, analysis, and development, we deliver the critical infrastructure that is a prerequisite for us to live and thrive in our municipalities. Our mission is to ensure that our customers have access to clean water and environmentally friendly sewage and waste management.

Our mission is also to create conditions for our customers to make more sustainable choices. We manage our operations with the customer in focus and with a heart for the environment and sustainable development for our communities. Our goal is to make it easy for our customers to do the right thing in all water, waste, and sewage matters. One of the tasks of the waste management operation is to run the municipalities' recycling centers. One of our employees in the waste management department is on leave for studies, and we are therefore looking for a temporary replacement for our recycling centers. The position is full-time and extends until 2027-05-31.

Job Responsibilities

As an employee at our recycling centers, you play an important role in meeting our customers. You assist visitors on-site, answer questions, and guide them to the correct sorting of waste. The work is social, service-oriented, and customer-focused.

To create a safe, secure, and pleasant environment, you, together with colleagues, are responsible for keeping the recycling center clean and well-organized. The work includes handling and moving containers, cages, and bins using a loader or forklift.

Our recycling centers are equipped with anytime solutions, which means that customers can also visit the facility during unmanned hours. This requires order, safety, and clear information, where you as an employee contribute to the facility's functionality even when it is not staffed.

The work also includes some administration and data management in our IT systems. Heavy lifting and physical work are involved.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is service-oriented and enjoys meeting people
  • Has good teamwork skills and contributes to a positive work environment
  • Enjoys varied work, mostly outdoors
  • Is stress-resistant and can handle many customer contacts simultaneously
  • Works in a structured manner and takes responsibility for safety and order
  • Has a good ability to independently identify needs and take initiative in the work

Education and Experience

The following is required for the position:

  • Driver's license B
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience in service and customer interaction

Meritorious:

  • Loader license (goods handling)
  • Forklift license B1

About the Position

The position is a full-time temporary role until 2027-05-31, as the regular employee is on leave for studies. Start date is by agreement, preferably as soon as possible. The placement is in Leksand, but you need to be prepared to work at other recycling centers within the operation as needed. Working hours may vary.

Welcome with your application by February 1, 2026. Selection and interviews are ongoing, and the position may be filled before the application deadline, so do not wait to apply.
