Summer Staff for Recycling Centers
Dala Vatten och Avfall manages the operation, development, coordination, administration, and planning of water, sewage, and waste management activities in Gagnef, Leksand, Rättvik, and Vansbro. The main office is located in Leksand.
Much of the work we do is neither seen nor heard, but it would be immediately noticeable if it ceased. Through planning, analysis, and development, we deliver the critical infrastructure that is essential for us to live and thrive in our municipalities. Our mission is to ensure that our customers have access to clean water and environmentally sound sewage and waste management.
Our mission is also to create conditions for our customers to make more sustainable choices. We manage our operations with the customer in focus and with a heart for the environment and sustainable development for our communities. Our goal is to make it easy for our customers to make the right choices in all water, waste, and sewage matters. One of the tasks of the waste management operation is to run the municipalities' recycling centers. During the summer, our facilities are in full swing, and we therefore need to increase our workforce. We are now looking for summer staff for our recycling centers in all four municipalities.
Job Responsibilities
As an employee at our recycling centers, you play an important role in interacting with our customers. You assist visitors on-site, answer questions, and guide them to the correct sorting of waste. The work is social, service-oriented, and customer-focused.
To create a safe, secure, and pleasant environment, you, together with colleagues, are responsible for keeping the recycling center clean and well-organized. The job includes handling and moving containers, cages, and bins using a loader or forklift.
Our recycling centers are equipped with anytime solutions, which means customers can also visit the facility during unstaffed hours. This requires order, safety, and clear information, where you as an employee contribute to the facility functioning even when it is unstaffed.
The work also includes some administration and data management in our IT systems. Heavy lifting and physical work are involved.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Is service-oriented and enjoys meeting people
- Has good teamwork skills and contributes to a positive work environment
- Enjoys varied work, mostly outdoors
- Is resilient and can handle many customer contacts simultaneously
- Works in a structured manner and takes responsibility for safety and order
- Has a good ability to independently identify needs and take initiative in the work
Education and Experience
For the position, the following is required:
- Driver's license B
- Basic computer skills
- Experience in customer service
Meritorious:
- Loader license (goods handling)
- Forklift license B1
About the Position
We are looking for employees for both full-time and part-time positions. We expect that you can work the entire summer unless otherwise stated. In your application, we would like you to specify what extent you are interested in and if you have the opportunity to start working before the summer.
The positions are located at, or may involve work at, all our recycling centers in our four municipalities. Placement and scheduling will primarily be based on where you live, but you need to be prepared to work at different recycling centers as needed.
Working hours may vary.
Welcome with your application no later than March 8, 2026. Selection and interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to submit your application.
