Your new job

Sanda Middle School is a grades 7-9 school and we are currently looking for someone who wants to work as a school nurse with us. As an employee at Sanda Middle School, it is an advantage if you have an interest in sports since a large part of the students are admitted through a sports profile. Currently, we have two part-time school nurses who belong to other school forms. From the autumn term of 2026, we plan to have our own full-time school nurse.

You will work health-promoting, preventive, and remedial based on the approved assignment description for your profession. Through the interdisciplinary collaboration in EHT, we support students' development towards the goals of education and contribute to creating accessible learning environments.

Your responsibilities include:

• The school nurse's preventive and health-promoting assignment is based on the school's needs but also on guidelines in the management system for the medical services of student health.
• Responsible for and plan the medical services of student health in collaboration with the school doctor and school management.
• Conduct health visits and health conversations according to national guidelines, identify needs for support and interventions.
• Collaborate with EHT, school staff, guardians, and external actors, based on your nursing competence, to create the best possible conditions for students' health, development, and learning.
• Follow up and analyze health surveys and contribute data at the school and class level in the systematic quality work.
• Responsible for vaccinations according to the Swedish vaccination program.
• Prepare and participate in school doctor visits and follow up on interventions.
• Inform and educate about healthy lifestyles at the individual, group, and school level.
• Hold open reception for minor healthcare, advice, and assessment of care needs.
• Contribute medical expertise in career guidance and education-related checks.
• Support the pedagogical work with nursing and medical competence.
• Participate in the school's value-based work, safety team, and crisis group at the principal's request.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, supervise VFU students, and be a mentor for new colleagues.

Welcome to us

Sanda Education Center in Huskvarna consists of four different school forms; high school, adapted high school, adapted primary school, and middle school. At Sanda Education Center, over 1400 students study. Between these four school forms, we have close collaboration regarding staff and facilities.

The middle school at Sanda has had a clear sports focus since its inception over 10 years ago and will continue to do so as we grow. Currently, we have about 80 students per grade in grades 8-9, all of whom have applied and been admitted through tests in their special sport. In grade 7, we have around 100 students from the school's catchment area and just as many who are in our sports profile. Health and sports are part of our DNA, and we care about sustainable health for both students and staff.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with specialist training as a district nurse, pediatric nurse, or school nurse. Experience as a school nurse or health-promoting work with children and youth is meritorious, as well as experience with documentation in data journals, preferably Prorenata. We also appreciate experience in motivational interviewing.

To work as a school nurse with us, you need to be able to work independently, be proactive and organized, and we place great importance on personal suitability.
