Do you want to work in one of the world's most modern mines and contribute to a safe, sustainable, and efficient production? Our operations in Garpenberg are constantly evolving, and we are now looking for two truck mechanics for our Mobile Mechanics department underground. Our department is part of the Maintenance Section underground, where we have recently surpassed 100 employees in total.
Your role:
As a truck mechanic, you will primarily perform maintenance on our trucks, but you will also carry out maintenance on our heavy machinery. Every morning begins with a startup meeting where we review the day's activities, distribute work orders, and discuss any events and deviations that have occurred since the last shift before work begins in the workshops.
We operate in a constantly evolving environment and are looking for someone who is open to change, has good collaboration skills, enjoys working both in pairs and independently, and values structure and order in the workplace.
Working hours are shift work 7–7 daytime underground (work Mon-Fri from 06:00-16:00 and Sat-Sun from 06:00-14:18, off every other week). In the long term, night shifts may also be relevant. A probationary period may apply.
Your team:
As a truck mechanic, you will be part of the maintenance section underground, and our department consists of 35 mechanics divided into two shifts, each reporting to a group leader. The team also includes two maintenance leaders who manage daily operations.
Your tasks:
- Maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of trucks and heavy vehicles and equipment that are critical to the mine's operation.
- Service, repair, and preventive maintenance of trucks and heavy vehicles.
- Work with hydraulic systems and applications.
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics using troubleshooting computers.
- Work according to work orders and thorough documentation of fault descriptions and completed work.
- Structured and safe work according to Boliden's routines, workplace environment, and safety requirements.

We are looking for someone who is loyal, reliable, and responsible with a long-term maintenance perspective and who approaches their tasks with great commitment. You have a strong focus on safety, are driven, meticulous, and want to develop in your role while actively contributing to improvements in the business. As a person, you thrive in collaboration with others and take responsibility for both your own performance and the team's collective results.
We see that you have:
- High school education in a relevant field.
- At least three years of documented experience working with trucks and/or heavy vehicles.
- Good technical competence in hydraulics.
- Experience in troubleshooting and diagnostics via computer.
- Experience working systematically with work orders and technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Swedish and English in speech and writing.
- Driving license B.
Meritorious are:
- Experience in repair and diagnostics of Volvo trucks.
- Experience from mining, industrial, or contracting operations.
- Knowledge and experience in pneumatics, electrical work, and welding.
- Experience with Maximo, 5S, and computer/system proficiency.
