Do you want to work in one of the world's most modern mines and contribute to safe, sustainable, and efficient production? Our operations in Garpenberg are constantly evolving, and we are now looking for four vehicle mechanics for heavy machinery for our Mobile Mechanics department underground. Our department is part of the Maintenance Section underground, where we have recently surpassed 100 employees in total.
Your role:
Our fleet underground consists of about 100 mining machines such as drill rigs, loaders, scalers, bolt setters, and various trucks, and as a vehicle mechanic, your mission is to perform service and repairs on these. Over time, we see that you will specialize in certain types of machines, but you should have knowledge to work with all of them. The work is usually done in pairs at one of our workshops underground, but both planned and urgent interventions in the field occur. Every morning starts with a startup meeting where we review the day's activities, distribute work orders, and discuss any events and deviations that have occurred since the last shift before work begins in the workshops.
We operate in a constantly evolving environment and are looking for someone who is open to change, has good collaboration skills, enjoys working both in pairs and independently, and values structure and order in the workplace.
The working hours are shift work 7-7 daytime underground (work Mon-Fri from 06:00-16:00 and Sat-Sun from 06:00-14:18, off every other week). In the long term, night shifts may also become relevant. A probationary period may apply.
Your team:
As a vehicle mechanic, you will be part of the maintenance section underground, and our department consists of 35 mechanics divided into two shifts with a group leader for each whom you report to. The team also includes two maintenance leaders who lead the daily operations.
Your tasks:
- Performing service & repairs on our machines
- Reporting completed work in Maximo
Your contribution:
- High school education in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Mechanical knowledge
- Swedish and English in speech and writing
- Driver's license B
Preferred qualifications:
- Work experience as a vehicle mechanic for mining machines.
- Knowledge and experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, and welding.
- Experience with Maximo, 5S, and computer/system proficiency
