About us: The Urology Clinic consists of a Reception Unit and a Treatment Unit. At the Urology Clinic, nurses, nursing assistants, and urotherapists work together with research nurses, doctors, and social workers. To provide the best possible care, we work in teams around various urological diagnoses. Our main areas are primarily the investigation and treatment of prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, penile cancer, testicular cancer, endourology, implants, strictures, and LUTS. However, we also handle all other urological diagnoses and symptoms.
The urology area operates at two of the region's three hospitals, Örebro University Hospital and Karlskoga Hospital. We have a broad urological operation that includes both basic urology and most types of highly specialized urological surgery. We also have extensive research activities and an educational assignment within both nursing and medical education. At Örebro University Hospital, there is a care department, an operating department, a day surgery department, and shock wave treatment, an administrative unit, a research and development unit, as well as a reception.
Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three emergency hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has approximately 3,500 employees. Operations Planner/Nurse VO Urology, USÖJob ResponsibilitiesAs an operations planner, you have a central and coordinating role in the organization. Together with our other operations planner, you are responsible for planning and optimizing the surgical program. Your tasks include, among others:
- Planning the surgical program in collaboration with responsible doctors
- Invitations, preparation, and planning of both inpatient and day surgery patients, including patients undergoing local anesthesia
- Receiving cancellations and removals and filling gaps in the surgical program
- Ensuring that patients are optimally prepared for surgery
- Telephone counseling with patients regarding surgical planning
- Coordination of examinations and treatments requiring pre- and post-care at our treatment unit
- Coordination of joint surgeries with other areas of operation
- Responsibility for any coordination with our care department during high workload at our treatment unit
- Participation in quality and development work
- Continuous improvement work regarding flows and work methods

QualificationsWe are looking for you who:
- Are a licensed nurse
- Have at least a couple of years of professional experience
- Are computer literate
- Experience from surgical operations and/or experience in coordinating/planning care may be advantageous.
