Markverkstad Boden is a department within AST, the Army Staff, with approximately 180 employees. We perform maintenance on the Armed Forces' ground equipment and provide technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspections, repairs, manufacturing, dismantling/scrapping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and material investigation. Markverkstad Norr operates in Umeå, Boden, Arvidsjaur, Vidsel, Luleå, Östersund, and Sollefteå. The location for this position is in Boden.
Job Responsibilities
As a weapon technician, you will primarily work with preventive/corrective maintenance/repairs of weapons and optics. You will be part of a team of 27 employees, of which 6 are weapon technicians, and report to the Mechanical Detail Manager. Since the department also supports other units in Sweden with support and maintenance, some travel will be included in the job.
Work with thermosetting plastics occurs at the workplace and requires health checks.
REQUIREMENTS Qualifications
- Two or three-year technical high school education or equivalent as assessed by the employer
- Driver's license B
- General computer skills

Meritorious
- Experience in maintenance of weapons, optics, or precision mechanics.
- Relevant experience as a technician or mechanic in a similar field
- Experience from the Armed Forces and its routines is desirable.
- Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and material maintenance in the Armed Forces
- Forklift license
- C or CE driver's license
