Pain Specialist for the Pain Clinic/Pain Center South

The pain service at Södertälje Hospital is facing an exciting and developing task in the region. Therefore, we need to expand and are looking for you, a specialist doctor with an interest in pain diagnostics and treatment. Could you be the one we are looking for?

Specialist Doctor for the Pain Clinic

The pain service consists of an outpatient clinic and a consultative service aimed at both the hospital's wards/clinics and primary care. Here we work in a team-based and multiprofessional manner based on the bio-psycho-social model. The team consists of pain specialists, pain nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, and ACT-focused KB therapists, as well as an administrator and a social worker.

As a pain specialist, you will work both independently and together with the rest of the team with patients suffering from both acute and chronic pain in both outpatient and inpatient care. This includes pain consultations in wards regarding all types of pain issues and teaching. We have physical patient visits, video consultations, and follow-ups via phone, as well as team conferences. Our referral flow is constant, hence daily referral assessments in the team.

In addition to a well-established collaboration with other specialties and areas of operation at the hospital, we also have a consultative role towards other healthcare services, providing advice and phone consultations.

Your Personal Qualities:

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable in their professional role. You have an empathetic approach towards your patients and possess good communication and collaboration skills with your colleagues. You are accustomed to working independently but enjoy working in a team with other professionals who are specialists in their fields. You have a good ability to independently plan and execute your work, both patient-related and administrative. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. We would like you to participate in development and improvement work.

You have a good command of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

Your Qualifications:

Requirements:

• Licensed physician with a specialist certificate in anesthesiology and intensive care.

Meritorious:

• Specialist doctor in anesthesiology or another suitable specialty
• Experience in assessment and treatment of chronic pain
• Teaching and research
