About the Operation

With over 300 employees, we are one of Sweden's largest eye care operations. We are a research-intensive operation at the forefront of research and development. The main operation is located at Mölndal Hospital, but eye care is also provided at Drottning Silvia's Children's and Adolescents' Hospital and Sahlgrenska Hospital. Our operation is divided into 14 processes according to different subspecialties, within medicine and surgery. In each process, there are employees from various professional categories (nurses, medical secretaries, opticians, orthoptists, eye nurses, clerks, doctors, coordinators, photographers, and assistant nurses), all with high competence in the field.

About the Position

As an assistant nurse at Ward 205, you will experience a great variety in your work. Here, patients with medical and surgical eye diseases are cared for. We have short hospital stays with an average of two days, fast flows, and a low care burden. The work is varied in terms of intensity, patients, and tasks. You will meet patients who have suffered from retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, and keratitis. You will also encounter trauma cases where the cause of eye injury may be, for example, fireworks, sports injuries, or cuts and lacerations. The patients we meet range from one year and up. During weekends and evenings, you will assist in our emergency operations conducted in the department. On weekends, we also care for patients from the Hand Surgery operation.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained assistant nurse and has experience with similar tasks. We consider it an advantage if you have previous experience working with eye care. To thrive with us, you need to be flexible, have good communication skills, good collaboration abilities, and a positive attitude. You enjoy taking responsibility, initiating your own actions, and working in a team. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
