Dalateatern is looking for

A costume master with studio responsibility. The position is a permanent full-time employment starting from April 1 or by agreement.

About the position:

As a costume master, you will work closely with costume designers and be responsible for turning ideas into reality. As the studio manager, you will be responsible for both the studio and the costume inventory. This includes costume maintenance during the performance period as well as potential lending of costumes to other organizations. In our costume studio, there is also a theater tailor whom you will supervise. You will be part of our technical department where we collectively carry out and realize many productions.

We are looking for someone who has

– Relevant education or professional experience in men’s and women’s tailoring

– Pattern cutting education or good experience in pattern cutting.

– Experience in translating a costume sketch into a finished stage costume by working with pattern construction, cutting, fitting, and sewing.

– Ability to plan and lead manufacturing teams.

– Good material knowledge and can adequately and precisely calculate material costs and time requirements.

– Knowledge in dyeing and patination.

– Good tool knowledge.

– Experience working with decorative fabrics.

– Experience in theater production.

– Ability to manage ongoing maintenance of the studio and inventory.

– Contacts and a network with other colleagues.
