The Health and Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, health care, authority exercise, ordering services, and provides care and support in-house. Your Responsibilities

Are you a person with experience working with individuals with cognitive disorders and driven to provide care, support, and assistance based on individual needs? Then the position at Ekhult's nursing home may be for you!

Our goal is for those living at Ekhult's nursing home to receive the help and support they need to manage their daily lives, and that together we create a meaningful everyday life. There is also the opportunity for social interaction with others, or if one prefers, individual activities for those living here. The work includes caregiving tasks, which involve, for example, assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, various service tasks, and medical duties. We work based on the national value framework and a salutogenic approach, focusing on the healthy and encouraging the individual's own abilities. Since the residents have cognitive disorders, you need to meet each individual where they are at the moment.

The work also includes being a contact person for a number of individuals, which means planning support and assistance together. You participate in welcome conversations and establish and revise implementation plans, documenting in the Treserva system. You will have contact with relatives and other partners. There is also the opportunity to take on an advocacy role, which means you have a special responsibility for an area that we will collectively determine based on your knowledge and interests. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

Your Workplace

The residence is located in the scenic Ljung, about 25 kilometers outside Linköping and a few kilometers outside Ljungsbro. To reach Ekhult's nursing home, you need to have a driver's license and access to your own car, or alternatively, be residing nearby and able to cycle, as there are no bus connections to the residence.

Ekhult's nursing home is beautifully situated with a view of a lake and surrounded by beautiful nature. There is also an associated orangery that is utilized. Outdoor activities are therefore an important part of the work at Ekhult. The nursing home is intended for individuals with cognitive disorders and has 20 apartments spread over two floors. There is also a communal area in the form of a living room and kitchen where residents and staff can meet, socialize, and have social activities together. The operation is part of a cluster with other operations to assist each other when needed. Work may occur in any of the following facilities: Vretaliden's nursing home in Ljungsbro and the short-term care facility Kärna care home and Kärna nursing home in Malmslätt.

At Ekhult, we use BEATA, a safety-enhancing alarm system based on cameras that detect if a resident deviates from their normal movement pattern. This has contributed to increased privacy for the individual as it has reduced the number of checks that may disturb sleep since some checks can be done via mobile. Smartphones are therefore an integrated part of our working method to enhance safety for all our residents.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a high school education, and we consider it an advantage if you are a trained nursing assistant. For the position, you need to have experience working in elderly care. It is advantageous if you have previously worked in dementia care and have experience with low-arousal approaches. We also consider it advantageous if you have knowledge of BPSD.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of customer contact and documentation, which means we require you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish. You have the ability to use digital tools in your work, and it is advantageous if you have experience documenting in journal systems.

As a person, you are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and move your work forward. You also work well with others and listen and communicate clearly. It is also important that you have an empathetic ability that allows you to understand others' perspectives and situations. Finally, you easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes.
