Your responsibilities
As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's Guardianship Authority. You lead and develop the operations within the three main areas of activity, employee management, and finance. This involves actively working to build culture, set inspiring goals, and create good conditions for effective collaboration with both internal and external parties.
As a unit manager, you have overall responsibility for employees who work with recruitment, training, follow-up, and control of voluntary assignments (guardians, administrators, custodians).
You participate in the budget process and drive the work towards the goals set in the operational plan. You will work in close dialogue with the political committee and develop collaboration both internally within the municipality and with external partners and authorities. An important part of the assignment is to continuously monitor and adapt the operations according to changing conditions and laws within your areas of responsibility. This means that you as a manager need to be present in your leadership and strong in change management.
As a unit manager, you are part of the management group for the Citizen Department. You also have support resources within administration, HR, and finance.
Your workplace
The Guardianship Authority operates on behalf of the Guardianship Committee and is part of the administration of Operational Support and Services. The unit consists of fourteen dedicated employees with high competence who together are responsible for supervising representatives. Since the operations are regulated by law and involve authority exercise, primarily based on the Parental Code, high demands are placed on legal security, objectivity, and uniform assessments.
The workplace is located in central Linköping, and as a manager with us, you have flexible working hours.
Who you are
We see that you have previous managerial experience and a university degree in a relevant field.
Knowledge of guardianship issues is desirable, and we would like you to have experience working in, with, or close to a political committee. The assignment requires very good knowledge of Swedish as you need to be able to express yourself and draft cases and documents of high quality.
To succeed in this assignment, you are an experienced manager with a mature and secure leadership style. Here, you will lead a group with a strong sense of responsibility, where your role will be to coordinate the workgroup and ensure that we work towards common goals with clear mandates. You do not hesitate to make the decisions required for the best of the operations, even when opinions differ. You are clear and straightforward in your communication and create security around roles and responsibilities. We are constantly developing and working to embrace new systems and effective ways of collaborating. For this assignment, we are looking for a stable manager who has the ability to lead the group through these changes.
In this recruitment, we will use tests as part of our assessment.
