Summer Job as Environmental Worker

Do you have an interest in the environment and sustainability? Do you love meeting people and want to make it easier for our customers to sort correctly?

The Reuse Unit is responsible for the region's 18 reuse centers, which are visited daily by people who want to dispose of their waste. We are now looking for you who want to work this summer as an Environmental Worker and help visitors at the reuse centers in Köping, Kungsör, and Arboga!

About the Role

As an environmental worker, you are the face of the organization, as you meet our customers who visit the reuse centers every day. Your main task is to be visible and provide them with service through advice and assistance in sorting correctly.

You will also receive hazardous waste and fill in documentation for invoicing and reporting. This role also includes operating a loader to move materials, containers, and other goods on the facility.

Part of your job is to work towards ensuring that routines and working methods are uniform across all our reuse centers. Therefore, contact and collaboration with your colleagues across the entire unit is central.

You who are applying have an interest in working with environmental and waste issues. You are responsible and organized as you will largely plan your work at the reuse center independently. Your initiative is high, you strive for high quality at the reuse centers, and you see potential improvements.

Meeting people motivates you, and being service-oriented comes naturally to you. You have the ability to meet customers in a safe and adapted manner, both to resolve immediate issues and to spread knowledge.

To thrive in the role, you need to be flexible and happily embrace new working methods and routines. Good collaboration with your colleagues is of great importance.

We See That You Have:

• Completed upper secondary education.
• Knowledge of the Office suite.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
• Current experience in customer service, for example, in customer service, retail, sales, or consulting. Alternatively, other experience in customer interaction that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• An interest in the environment and a desire to contribute to a sustainable society.
• A valid driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.

It Is Meritorious If You Also Have:

• Loader training (C2 license) and forklift licenses A2 and B1.
• A post-secondary education in a relevant field for the position.
• Experience working at a reuse center or another environmental or sustainability-related profession.
• Experience handling hazardous waste.

Other Important Information:

The position is a summer temporary position between June 1 - August 31. Desired start for training in April or May.
