The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new, renovating, and adding on, and are now looking for more employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As the duty officer, you are responsible, in consultation with the prison inspector, for the security of the remand facility in Karlstad and lead and distribute the daily operational tasks. You monitor the daily security work and take action as needed. The duty officer at the remand facility in Karlstad is on duty from Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day. Outside office hours, you are the highest local operational decision-maker under the prison director on standby. You are an employer representative and a guarantee that the management line is maintained all the way to all staff. You anchor decisions made and hold a support function to the prison inspector. Decision-making occurs according to the regulations of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You support and lead the staff in a positive and developmental way, thereby creating engagement and participation. In the role of duty officer, you need to be calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations and focus on the right things. You need to easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes that occur. You will need to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You need to have good collaboration skills and the ability to be clear in pressured situations.
QUALIFICATIONS

You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute to everyone being treated equally with your approach. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed upper secondary education in the form of a diploma or upper secondary certificate.
- Approved basic training from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.
- Good administrative skills and experience working in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's administrative programs.
- Training in OC and baton.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Approved training as a duty officer at a prison/remand facility.
- Driver's license B.
- Work experience leading others from a corresponding position as a duty officer or another managerial position.
- Approved training as a training leader.
- Approved training as an alarm manager.
- Experience in personnel ranking.
- Language skills beyond Swedish and English.
OTHER
