Your role

As Category Leader for the IT/Digitalization category, you will be responsible for strategic purchasing, category management, and supplier development within the framework of public procurement.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional category teams by being responsible for all business activities needed to make purchasing decisions.
  • Create, anchor, implement, and develop purchasing strategies based on analyses of spend, supplier market, risk, and sustainability to achieve the company's short- and long-term goals.
  • Create the right quality, reliability, and value through the development of strong business relationships internally and externally for sustainable development.
  • Conduct larger procurements both in accordance with relevant legislation and with a total cost perspective in mind, in accordance with the applicable category strategy.
  • Analyze the organization's needs and focus heavily on cost-driving areas. Actively work to identify potential efficiencies that can lead to significant savings.

We are looking for someone who has

  • A university degree in economics, purchasing, logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of procurement legislation (LUF and LOU).
  • Experience in public procurement of hardware and software (OT/IT).
  • Experience in category management.
  • Documented experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier development.
  • Good knowledge of business systems and purchasing tools, such as Kraljic's matrix.
  • The ability to analyze data in Excel and BI tools.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • A valid driver's license (B).

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and data modeling.

The purchasing department consists of ten dedicated employees who together form a strategic partner to the entire organization. We have seven category leaders and three tactical purchasers who serve as an important support function and drive the development of purchasing work forward. Our common mission is to ensure that the Mälarenergi group complies with applicable procurement legislation and works with effective, sustainable, and business-oriented solutions.
