Do you want a varied job in a meaningful organization? Then the position of parish host/church caretaker within the Church of Sweden is for you.

Kil Parish consists of Boda, Frykerud, and Stora Kil congregations. Kil has approximately 12,000 inhabitants, and about 69 percent of them are members of the Church of Sweden. Kil is located 20 km west of Karlstad.

Our housekeeper is retiring. Therefore, we are looking for someone who wants to take over a versatile role and become an important part of our team. In Kil Parish, there are four churches and one chapel. Collaboration occurs throughout the parish, but you will mainly work at the Church's yard in Kil. You will be part of a team with 24 year-round employees and many volunteers.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for cooking, baking, and serving during church activities (such as Elvaträffen, birthday parties, Christmas dinners, volunteer groups, lotteries, bread sales, collections, etc.). Additionally, you will be responsible for purchasing food items and food handling.

As a parish host, you will also collaborate with volunteers and employees who assist with various activities.

The position includes tasks as a church caretaker during services and church ceremonies (with duties every other weekend), as well as some cleaning.

Qualifications

• Experience in similar work is an advantage.
• Education in food handling.
• Membership in the Church of Sweden.
• Class B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Permanent position, 100%. Start date May 2026. (A probationary period may be applicable.)
