Job Advertisement: Seasonal Workers in Green Space Maintenance

The Department for Public Outdoor Environment is responsible for the public environment you experience in Karlstad Municipality.

We work with streets, parks, and public spaces to create a safe and attractive public environment, where people have good conditions for a high quality of life.

The positions are located in the street/park maintenance unit, which takes care of the municipality's parks, green areas, bathing places, and small boat harbors through operation, maintenance, and development. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with other actors. Some green space assignments are performed on behalf of other departments or companies within the group.

Job Responsibilities

We need reinforcement for the street/park maintenance unit for this year's season. We are looking for seasonal workers who want to work with green space maintenance in our city. Your daily work will be performed outdoors among the municipality's citizens and visitors in our sunny city.

As a machine operator, you will work with the maintenance of the municipality's green areas such as parks, residential areas, schools, and other public environments. The work mainly involves operating riding lawn mowers and other smaller machines, but some manual work may also occur. You are an important part of creating attractive and safe outdoor environments for the residents and visitors of Karlstad.

The duration of employment is between 4-6 months and is scheduled between April and October. Selection will be ongoing during the application period.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is interested in green space maintenance, has good service skills, and wants to contribute to attractive outdoor environments in our sunny city.

We prefer that you have experience as a machine operator and that you are an experienced driver of larger riding lawn mowers. You can work independently but also collaborate well in a team. You have good physical fitness and enjoy active outdoor work.

You have a responsible attitude towards machines and equipment and handle them safely and carefully.

Computer skills are a prerequisite as some administrative tasks are included in the job responsibilities. For the position, you must be able to communicate in Swedish.

A B driver's license is required for the position. It is an advantage if you have BE and C driver's licenses as well as training in Work on the Road and Hot Work. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
