Do you have solid experience as a chef or cold kitchen assistant and want to be part of our wonderful team on board?
We offer work in an exciting and international environment, where we work together at a fast pace and have fun along the way. Always with the guests in focus! We are now looking for chefs and cold kitchen assistants for the summer season on board Silja Symphony, with the opportunity to start working extra already in the spring.
We are looking for both employees who want to work with a fixed summer schedule, where you work about 8–10 days on board followed by an equal length of paid leave, and employees who want to work more flexibly, as substitutes/extra as needed. As a substitute, you will instead make yourself available in our personnel system based on your preferences and availability to then be booked for shifts based on the needs of the business.
On board, there is a wide range of restaurants within à la carte and buffet. Job opportunities exist both in the hot and cold kitchens, depending on your previous experience. Together with colleagues, you are responsible for delivering high-quality food and creating a pleasant working environment that contributes to satisfied guests.
We are looking for you who:
- Have at least two years of professional experience as a chef or cold kitchen assistant.
- Have relevant education.
- Have a passion for cooking and the willingness to participate in the creative process.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation.
To succeed in the role, it is important that you are positive, social, and goal-oriented with a high sense of service. You are engaged in your work, have the desire to develop, and enjoy working in a fast-paced team to achieve common goals. For us, it is important that you value and want to work based on our guiding principles: joy, commitment, cooperation, and professionalism.
Whether you have worked at sea before or not, we offer a chance to grow and develop together with us. The first step on your journey will be a four-day onboarding on board to familiarize yourself with the work environment, the ship, and the team.
Once you start working on board, you will be part of the safety organization. Therefore, it is important that you have a good basic fitness level as well as good knowledge of Swedish, which is the safety language on board, and good knowledge of English. To work on board, you also need citizenship in an EU/EES country, a valid medical certificate for seafarers, and a passport. Background checks are conducted as part of the recruitment process, and alcohol and drug tests may occur according to our safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment on board.
Do you want to be our new colleague?
Warm welcome to your application today!
We offer extra and seasonal work during 2026, which can also lead to long-term substitutes. Selection, interviews, and onboarding periods take place continuously during the spring. Salary according to collective agreement.
