Property Repair Technician for Malmö City

Job Responsibilities

The Property Unit is seeking a property repair technician who wants to be responsible for the supervision and maintenance of Malmö city's properties and buildings. We are looking for someone who is proactive and can work both independently and as part of a team.

As a property repair technician, your responsibilities will include:

• supervision, maintenance, operation, and service responsibility for assigned properties
• planning, coordinating, and executing operational technical work while ensuring contractors' performance
• planning and carrying out corrective maintenance
• addressing deficiencies or pointing out issues in property operations and suggesting improvements.

Within the group of colleagues, you will have a good sounding board and close collaboration with other property repair technicians, operational technicians, and specialists in construction, plumbing, and electrical work. You have an important responsibility to ensure that our customers/clients are satisfied with the services provided. The position involves assisting in several areas of property operations.

On-call duty may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• high school education with a technical or scientific focus or equivalent education
• at least 2 years of previous work experience in property operations
• experience in troubleshooting/maintenance within plumbing
• driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• good computer skills

If you have technical reading comprehension in English, it is an advantage. It is also advantageous to have good knowledge of property technology (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.), drawing comprehension (property, electrical, plumbing, flow diagrams), and work experience in troubleshooting within HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation.

It is important that you have the ability to build good relationships in a large and varied network. You have a customer focus and are professional in your approach. You can quickly learn new tasks and understand new information to manage knowledge effectively. You are flexible and adapt to changing conditions. Working independently and taking responsibility are important traits as you often need to work alone in various environments with many different people around you. This responsibility places high demands on your accuracy, calmness, safety, and discipline.

About the Workplace

We currently have over 700 employees at the Municipal Technology Department and generate approximately 1 billion in revenue. This is the mission of the Municipal Technology Department: to meet the need for a well-functioning urban environment and provide locally environmentally adapted and economically efficient comprehensive solutions for operation, maintenance, and care within streets, parks, and properties, as well as preparedness and technical service.

The Service Administration is divided into five departments and offers everything from transportation services to IT services and responding to citizens at Malmö city's contact center. We maintain streets, parks, green areas, and beaches, manage all of Malmö city's buildings, and ensure that our school students receive good and nutritious food. Together, we are a smart service partner to the city.
