As a cabin attendant on board, your tasks will vary from sales, alcohol service, and restaurant work to cleaning and ensuring that the ship's passenger areas are in top condition.

Working Hours:

The seasonal positions we offer are part-time at 75%-95%. The work is structured so that you work for a period and then have time off in a rolling schedule throughout your seasonal employment. For you, this means exciting and fun working days on board, while you can enjoy everything summer has to offer during your days off on land!

During the summer, our ships operate around the clock, which means that working hours can be scheduled during the day, evening, and night. Since this is a part-time seasonal position, you will live at home and board and disembark the ship on all your working days. This means you need to have accommodation where you can get to Nynäshamn regardless of what time your working days start. Since our schedules are based on the ships' timetables, we cannot adjust working hours according to public transport or your commuting time to and from Nynäshamn. Destination Gotland cannot provide accommodation during this employment.

To work with us, you must be at least 18 years old. You do not need to have worked on a ship before, but previous experience in safety and service-oriented jobs is an advantage.

Swedish is our safety language, so it is important that you can speak Swedish fluently and understand the Swedish language in both speech and writing. You also have good knowledge of English.

Safety:

On board, safety is always the highest priority. As a new employee with us, you will undergo mandatory safety training and a medical examination for maritime employees.

If you are called for safety training, you need to bring an extract from the criminal record. Before a hiring decision is made, we always conduct a background check as well as an alcohol and drug test.

Interviews and References:

We collaborate with LB Karriär, which is responsible for interviews and reference checks. Selection is ongoing, and we look forward to your application as soon as possible!

At Destination Gotland, we are responsible for one of Sweden's most important routes – the sea route between Gotland and the mainland. Our fast ferries create opportunities for both passenger and freight traffic to travel efficiently between Gotland and the mainland, on the routes Visby – Nynäshamn or Visby – Oskarshamn.

Starting in spring 2024, we will also operate cruise traffic between Stockholm, Mariehamn, and Visby with the vessel M/S Birka Gotland.

We have been operating the Gotland traffic since 1998 and are proud of the trust. Formally, the assignment is from the Transport Administration, but in many ways, the assignment is also from the Gotland community. We see it as our task to contribute to the development of Gotland by always leading the way and creating opportunities for everyone who wants to travel to and from our island.
