We are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer for a global player in Västerås, where you will work on the commissioning of automated port cranes around the world, with a particular focus on large international port projects, such as in China.

About the Role

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that advanced, automated port cranes operate correctly and safely during commissioning – from installation to fully operational and autonomous operation. The cranes can be likened to very large robots that, with the help of sensors, cameras, and software, position themselves and compensate for external factors such as wind and weather.

The work is primarily conducted on-site in international projects and involves longer continuous periods abroad. The majority of assignments are located in China, for example in Shanghai, where you will be stationed at the same location throughout the project.

Examples of Responsibilities:

• Commissioning of automated port cranes from installation to fully autonomous operation
• Start-up, troubleshooting, and optimization of crane functionality

Your Profile

To thrive in this role, you are hands-on, curious, and solution-oriented. You enjoy working with technology, are not afraid of complex systems, and thrive in international environments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in automation, robotics, or equivalent
• Very good English skills, both spoken and written
• Willing and able to live and work abroad for extended periods.
• Not afraid of heights and able to work in demanding industrial environments
• Swedish citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Good knowledge of electrical systems (especially important for the role)
• Experience in PLC programming, electrical systems, or industrial automation
