Property Caretaker at Vallby Open Air Museum

As a property caretaker at Vallby Open Air Museum, you play a key role in keeping the museum's environments well-maintained, safe, and inviting. The work is practical, varied, and largely takes place outdoors in a unique cultural setting. Here, you get to combine independent responsibility with daily presence at one of Västmanland's largest tourist attractions.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of substitute property caretaker, you will be responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep routines at Vallby Open Air Museum and the Anundshög tourist site. Tasks include tractor driving, lawn mowing, hay harvesting, waste management, as well as simpler repairs and maintenance work such as carpentry, painting, and other property services. You may also supervise summer workers from high school.

The work is largely performed outdoors in public environments, which means you will meet visitors in your daily routine and contribute to a welcoming and well-maintained tourist destination through good service and a professional approach.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone with experience in property maintenance who enjoys practical and varied work. You have a B driver's license and are accustomed to driving tractors, trailers, and/or other machinery related to land maintenance. Experience working in public environments or tourist sites is considered a plus. To thrive in this role, you need to be able to work independently, take responsibility, and have a service-oriented attitude. You have good knowledge of Swedish, and a completed high school education is a requirement for employment.

We Offer

You will become part of Västerås Museums and have the opportunity to work at two of Västmanland's largest tourist attractions during the peak season. With us, you will have a meaningful and independent job in a unique cultural and natural environment.

Here, you will be part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our values in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues around the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
