Head Chef for Meal Services

The Meal Services department is responsible for the municipality's public meals and prepares food for preschools, schools, and care services. In our kitchens, dedicated employees serve delicious, safe, and nutritious meals to children, students, and the elderly every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the head chef, you will lead, plan, and develop the meal services within your area of responsibility in line with national guidelines as well as our local goals and our shared vision. You will have managerial responsibility for approximately 20 employees and will be responsible for the budget, work environment, and the results of the operation.

A central part of the role is to work with the kitchens on menus and meal planning, as well as to follow up and develop the operation based on goals for good, safe, integrated, environmentally friendly, and nutritious meals in a pleasant dining environment.

You will be part of the management team of the meal unit together with the operations manager, other head chefs, and an administrator. In the group, we actively contribute to each other's development and jointly drive the meal services forward.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in nutrition, culinary education, or other training and experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You have experience in a leadership role, preferably from a production kitchen, restaurant, or similar operation.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience with budget responsibility
• knowledge of risk-based self-control (HACCP)
• experience with special diets
• experience working with meal data programs, such as Mashie

You have good knowledge of nutrition, food legislation, and the recommendations of the Food Agency, and you use a computer as a natural working tool.
